Access, use, and preservation of personal information by Mogiv.com should only occur as a means to make Mogiv.com a great experience for you. The disclosure of personal information should never occur without your explicit consent.

This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we gather about you, how we use it, with whom we might share it, and the choices you have about the information you choose to share with us.

Please remember that this Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control or to people that we do not employ or manage, including the Nonprofit Organizations that facilitate giving through Mogiv.com. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information about you. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information that Mogiv, Inc. (“Mogiv”) collects about you as a user of the Mogiv.com website (“the Website”). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to the terms of the Website’s Terms of Use. Each time you use the Website, you signify that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the Terms of Service, which incorporate this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you must discontinue using the services on our Website.

Information Collected.

From Registered Users. If you choose to become a Registered User of Mogiv.com you may be required to provide certain personal information such as your name, email address, username, and password during the registration process.

From Donors. When you make a donation on the Website, in addition to the contact information collected during the registration process, we also collect your payment information. This includes credit or debit card information (such as the type of card, card number, expiration date, and security code), checking information (such as the name of your bank and the account and routing numbers) collectively, “Payment Information”. When you make a donation via your mobile device, we will collect your telephone number along with your Payment Information. We will only use your Payment Information for the purpose of processing your donation via our highly secure third-party billing service providers to authorize such payments. Mogiv’s current billing service provider is Base Commerce for credit or debit card charges and for checking account charges.

From Nonprofit Organizations. When you build a page for your organization, we collect your name, title, your organization’s name, tax identification number (TIN) or employer identification number (EIN), address, telephone number, website, and email address. We also collect information about the financial institution to which we will remit donations made to your organization on the Website.

Data Security on Mogiv.com.

The Mogiv system meets or exceeds all applicable rules and regulations imposed by governing state and federal law, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, collectively governed by Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI / DSS). Donor bank card and bank account numbers are transmitted and retained exclusively in a secure encrypted manner within a system and servers which have been certified as PCI / PA / DSS (Payment Card Industry, Payment Application, Data Security Standards) complaint.

Information Use by Mogiv.com.

Registered Users and Donors. When you register to become a member, the information you provide is stored in a personal profile, allowing you to pre-authorize subsequent or recurring donations. Mogiv.com does not use the information in your profile for marketing purposes, without your permission. User settings, such as My Organizations and GivUp’s, are kept solely for the purpose of personalizing your visits.

If you are a Registered User or Donor, Mogiv shares your personal contact information with the Nonprofit Organizations to which you subscribe or make donations. Except for information provided to these Nonprofit Organizations, we do not share your profile with third-parties.

However, if Mogiv.com becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Mogiv provides Nonprofit Organizations with the payment type, amount, and date of donations you make. Mogiv does not share your Payment Information with Nonprofit Organizations or any other third-parties.

However, be aware that we may need to disclose personal information when required by law or when we have a good-faith belief that disclosing your information is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on Mogiv.

Cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your computer’s hard drive. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you’ve visited, but the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites.

We use cookies to remember the password(s) associated with a particular computer to eliminate the need for you to keep re-entering them each time you come back to the Website and to ensure that you see our popup messages only once.

One thing to note, however, is that there may be Third-Party Advertisers on our Website who may serve you their own cookies when you click through to their separate sites. We do not control, nor do we have access to, any of the information that they may collect from your access/use of their sites. To learn more, see the section below titled Third-Party Advertising.

If you prefer not to receive cookies, you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse the cookie when your browser alerts you to its presence. You can also refuse all cookies by turning them off in your browser. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use any area of this Website.

Log Files. Like most standard website servers, we use and maintain the information that we obtain from your browser on our server logs. This information can include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (“ISP”), and other data. We may use this information to analyze trends, administer Mogiv.com, track user movement in the aggregate, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use, and to ensure that users are adhering to our Terms of Use. We do not associate the information in our web server log files with your personally identifiable information.

Communications from Mogiv.com.

To Registered Users and Donors. We send all new Registered Users a welcoming email to verify their email address and password. We send Donors email confirmation of donations made. You may elect to receive emails or text messages from Mogiv on the Nonprofit Organizations to which you subscribe or donate, updating you on the status of those Nonprofit Organizations’ fundraising campaigns, or reminding you to make a donation. On rare occasions it is necessary to send out strictly service related announcements. For instance, if our service is interrupted for a prolonged period, we may send all users an email message. Users cannot opt-out of this type of message, though they can deactivate their account. In response to a Registered User’s or Donor’s direct inquiry, we will send email providing assistance with their account or their use of the web site.

To Nonprofit Organizations. We send all Nonprofit Organizations a welcoming email to verify its log on information and password. We also send out notices aimed at keeping you updated on system enhancements, providing information on best practices, and highlighting how other organizations are effectively using Mogiv.com.

Communications from Nonprofit Organizations.

If you are a Registered User or Donor, Nonprofit Organizations may use your information to contact you directly. We do not control or monitor direct contact between you and any Nonprofit Organization. If you do not wish to be contacted by a Nonprofit Organization, please contact that organization directly.

Sharing on Facebook and Twitter

Mogiv.com allows Registered Users and Donors to share their participation on the Website on various social networking websites, including Facebook and Twitter; however, your passwords are never revealed to Mogiv.

Mogiv has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of these third-party websites. By using the Website, you expressly relieve Mogiv from any and all liability arising from your use of any third-party site or your sharing of information with any third-party site. Accordingly, we encourage you to be aware when you leave the Website and to read the terms of use and privacy policy of every other web site that you visit. Unless we expressly state otherwise, the fact that Mogiv.com has provided a link to a site is not an endorsement, authorization, sponsorship, or affiliation with respect to such site, its owners, or its providers.

Changes to your account.

Mogiv.com provides you with ways in which you can update your information, including your marketing preferences. To make changes, just sign in to the Website and go to the “My Account” area. Alternately, you can send an email to support@mogiv.com.

Will this privacy policy change?

As Mogiv evolves, this privacy policy is likely to evolve with it. We will post any Policy changes on this page and, in certain circumstances, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of Policy changes). Each version of this Policy will be identified at the top of the page by its effective date.
